After an awful year of almost no riding due to back problems, I decided to treat myself to a new bike this year. A nice do-it-all full susser in the form of a Bird Aeris. Hopefully will arrive at the end of March. In the meantime I am riding my other bike and trying not to think about it too much.

What bike are you waiting for?

Currently speccing a new road bike, racey carbon frame, carbon wheels, Dura-Ace, it's something of a dream bike and I'm very much enjoying the process of speccing it.

Waiting to see what the Bowman Foots Cray is like for a CX race bike build. If it ends up as described and same sort of price/quality as the Palace then I may well be having one!

Got new Surly Big Dummy and Genesis Grapil builds both about 90% there. But the last touches always take me ages. Both replacing existing bikes so the house bike total won't change!

I'm also waiting for an Aeris. As soon as the weather picks up, I'm going be finding the waiting very painful!

I'm going to build this up for no other reason than I've got all the bits. Frame cost £25 off here. Already got the same bike built up so no reason to make another one.

Not the next few months but hopefully a week or so, just waiting for the last few bits to be put on this old girl, she was stripped of her gears for a winter road frame. Really looking forward to riding/racing her again, should be a bit faster/lighter/nicer with tubs on vs the standard wheels.

I read your ride report.

I'm collecting the bits at the moment, as i'm getting the frame only. It is keeping me somewhat occupied. Really fun bike, I can't wait to get it built up.

I'm toying with buying/building a new road bike up, as i'm a bit bored of my doggy Allez which has done a lot of miles now.

But I can't decide what I want, at all.

The new transition transam 29er hopefully. MRP forks due mid march with frame hopefully not long after. The problem now is I have a long time to get drawn into buying expensive bits for it!

Just waiting for a 1978 Dave Lloyd frame and forks to be refinished at Argos in Bristol. It will then be built up using a mixture of age related parts.

I'm just about to start building up the wheels, using Mavic Module E rims and Campag Nuovo Tipo hubs.

My concessions to the modern world will be stainless db spokes, a new headset and modern tan wall tyres.

Nearly finished building up a parts pile special - Duncon Cock frame, Z1 forks, singlespeed setup... pretty much a hardtail DH bike, so will either be immense fun or completely pointless (or hopefully both at the same time!)

An old Blue Dragon Kaffenback frame which has been hanging around for years. No-one wanted to buy it, so I'll put some parts on it over the next few weeks. It's likely to be a bit of a dog's breakfast. My only other geared road bike , a Kona Sutra, is so heavy and unresponsive that I just can't seem to enjoy riding it.

Still hoping to find a Remedy 29er for a pound so I can afford it 😆 No new bikes otherwise. Unless I can sell all the crap that makes up my Official Winter Bike, and also my downhill frame, that way could lie fatbikin

I should get my finger out and rebuild my custom Soulcraft back up but it's gonna cost a fortune and i've just spent a fortune rebuilding my Tripster so it'll have to wait till money comes in later on in the year, I thought about selling it but it's 26" so totally undesireable these days. Dunno if i could part with it anyway….

I'm in the process of putting together a new cyclo cross bike for next season. It's going to be with discs but debating which frame to go with. It'll probably be a Specialized Crux frame but not sure I can justify going for the carbon version.

Sorry, good old cables. It is steel after all. Haters gonna hate.

Before that arrives though, solarider jnr is due to make an appearance at the end of March. A whole new world awaits..........nappies, no sleep, vomit etc. And to make things even easier (!) we are relocating permanently back home from Singapore to the UK 8 weeks after he arrives.

I can't wait!

Despite having everything ready (apart from the frame), I think physically building this one might have to wait a few weeks!

I'm waiting for a Crisp Titanium road frame after someone on here made me lust after one last year, not due until August though 😥

I'm still in a bit of a quandry about which wheels to get, although I'm also trying to buy another house at the minute which could mean two mortgages therefore the posh wheels may have to wait a bit...

Building up a Parkwood frame for springtime. Don't need many bits, but taking my time to get it exactly how I want. Including a mix and match front brake of new xtr race lever and M755 caliper + braided hose. Sweet modulation.

Overhaul of the trusty Arkose 3, hydro brakes, lighter wheels...

I'll be building my 5 29 back up. Had planned on a 2x10 XT groupo, Hope brakes, Pikes and Hope Hoops to go along with the frame, Thomson Dropper and Easton carbon bar I already have but the reality of a 1yr old lad is starting to hit so I might have to lower my build cost a bit. 🙄

I've decided I need an on-one parkwood in my life. I wanted to buy frame only and then get everything second hand/practically new for cheap but the complete build option is apparently so good i'll probably go for that.

The main stumbling block is the missus and her ignorance of the 'n +1' philosophy. We're sposed to be saving up for a load of work on the house. Real life eh?

It'll need the diplomacy skills of Kofi annan to sell this to her. I can't just sneak it into the bike shed.

I've also ran out of long lost ancestors and windfall inheritances

2 deeply unfashionable bikes:

Just finished 1 which is a Saracen Zen, only to discover therer is a horribel graunching from the pedal/BB area. 2011 frame so no tapered steerer, 26" wheels and 140mm travel. Hoping a new BB and or pedals will solve the problem and I will fall off it on Sunday

The other is a Boardman FS (2011), which is waiting a new shock, due in to TF Tuned 3rd March

No-one else will be excited by either, but I am. They are also both black with some green bits on, which is nice

I built it up a couple of years ago while my FS was being fixed up (just swapped all the bits over) and was pretty underwhelmed as it felt very harsh and I wanted it to be a FS. 2nd time around I know what to expect and it is built up much lighter. Think it should be a lot of fun

Trouble is, if I buy a frame to build up over the months, something else has usually taken my fancy before I finish the build.

Or I can't wait to ride it, and just buy all the bits straight away, build it and ride.

This is in the process of being built, I just need to fit the gears, brakes and dropper post. I went out to finish it off on Wednesday and it had a bloody puncture. Its my first 29er and I have pinched a few things from my BFe just to get it built.

I fully expect it to absolutely crap to ride.

Just ordered a Stanton Slackline frame this week. Using my Boardman FS as a donor bike, but just had the realisation that the only item going on the new build that originally came with the boardman is the fork!

but the complete build option is apparently so good i'll probably go for that.

Not as good as it was. They don't do the full Deore, RS Rev + Reverb for 1k anymore. That was the killer deal IMO.
