been looking at getting a new bag which is good for running and biking but was a bit loathed when I could actually run with my HAWG, albeit its a bit heavy and bulky.

So imagine my delight when a local scoundrel half-inched my HAWG presenting me with the opportunity to buy a new bag which would suit for both. Tempted by another Salomon Race Raid. Anything else to recommend?

Innov-8 ones. Get them from wiggle, bit expensive cos you have to buy the special horizonal bladder seperately. Ive got the 18ltr one I think, use it for biking and running, good weight distribution round the bottom of back.

Look at the OMM bags, do me for long distance hikes and rides and the back panel doubles as a sleep mat if you fancy a night out.

Osprey Talon 5.5 or 11 are great for cycling and running. They also do bigger sizes if you need more space and they are available in 2 different back lengths-handy if smaller rucsacs usually have backs that are too short!

Inov-8 racepro 12. Really comfy, light and not massively expensive. Waterproof too.

How much do you actually need to carry for running?
I would go for a bum bag sort of thing instead, more comfortable/less annoying than a backpack.
eg something like the Inov8 Race Elite 3.

These are pretty good

Bladder is rubbish though, and theres not loads of internal pockets, but they're cheap, stable and lightweight.

Haglofs Endurance, adjustable backlength and wide elastic waist band to stabilise the pack. Angled bottle and gel pockets really work for running and biking.
