Morning All

As above I'm changing my drivetrain over and need a new one. I was looking at the cheap and cheerful shimano m510/m530 option and would need it by next thursday at the latest due to an epic planning fail on my part 😳

CRC dont have them in stock, Wiggle do but dont do next day delivery only "we'll put your order to the front of the queue", Tredz have them but next day is ten pounds 8O.

Who else should I be looking at or what other ring choice? I'm at work so can't spend ages trawling.

Cheers all

I would strongly recommend the SLX M665 36T ring if you're running it as a double with a 22T granny.

If you're interested in an explanation of why you should use this rather than a 'standard' Shimano 36 ring then check out my posts on the subject in this thread linky

Unfortunately, none of this is much help for your current predicament, as everyone seems to be out of stock of the M665 36 ring also 🙁

never knew there was a 36-22 specific 36. never had the chain drop problem.
but that SLX one is alloy? so i'll stick with my cheap steel 36t.. shame there's no steel/composite 36t though.

I'll have to read your link tomorrow as it doesn't want to open on my phone.

I had a look at sjs however the standard postage takes 3days & next day delivery us a tenner! I did find a 510 IIRC for £19 at Wooly Hat Shop with next day so will go there I reckon.

Cheers all 🙂

I runs standard 36 / 22 deore steel rings and don't get a chain drop issue. Far more about mech setup that ramps on teh rings IMO. Two bikes like this.

TJ and GW are right. Deore 36T rings are small change compared to the alloy versions and shift just as well. They're a couple of crisps worth heavier but they last longer.
