is 280kgs a decent amount for a leg press?

it's about 4 times my bodyweight so I'd be well pleased if I did it.

Yes, but it also depends how many reps. Is that 1 rep max or are you able to do 6-8?

If you're doing to to aid your bike riding then it really all depends on heavy you are,strength to body weight ratio 'n all that...
