Bring it.

Thickthorn Woods. Warwickshire.

Was really, really hoping for a frozen day today. So sick of the incessant mud locally. Nah, mud it is...

Nice to be out though. The roads were very busy with people staying at home.

Dreaming of multi-day epics under warm and sunny skies

Just above zero, patch of blue but good to be out. Finally tested new wheels and tubeless tyres. Lovely.

MTB tomorrow. Expect ^^ it'll be a similar festival of slurry.

Such a lovely morning. Road and XC to some local DH trails, which I'm pleased to report have been significantly extended with plenty of new features.

Nice to encounter a deer as well as around ten peacocks too.

was out early this morning borderline frost vs swamp so ended up with a singlespeed caked in frozen mud, it's been freezing or below all day but it's not permeating the ground enough 🙁

18 miles of frozen bridleways yesterday, lots of mx ruts and boots shaped death traps to ride through. My legs are still aching now. Great riding in the snow the higher I climbed, really enjoyed the day

Ride out into the New Forest this morning. It was a bit of a tour of the old military sites including Ibsley DF/HF range, Ashley Bombing Range and the Canadian war memorial.

Still slushy snow on the edge of Sheffield but I managed to stay upright. Cold and grim in the mist but great to get out.

Got out on the local hill this afternoon. Took the steepest way up to the top to test out my new-foind gains from the turbo sessions, got up on a new PB by nearly a minute!

The top was a boggy mess though after all the morning walkers and bikers had used it following last night's frost. Was just one giant treacly mess that gave no grip whatsoever!

Was fun though and worth it for the view from the Weather Station before flying back down into the city with mud flying off the tyres!

One of those days... The mud wasn't as frozen and icy as I thought it would be, and the roots were more so...

12 obstacles cleared from one 300m section of trail today - branches, trunk, trees split and pulled down across the trail, even a concrete post with tetanus-laden rusty wire spikes. Don't really understand the motivation of those who do this, but I'll keep on just patiently clearing them and putting the materials beyond use when I come across them. Apart from that (and the mud), it was a glorious day to be out riding in the woods.

Some horrendous mud on my local loop, a sloppy layer over a very slimy base that sticks to the bike and then catherine wheels off the tyres even at 10mph.

It got so bad even my singlespeed spat it's dummy out after I spent 10 minutes comically trying to ride sideways up a minor incline.

My local ride from my door on Sunday. Setting off over ogden it was full of snow but dropping down to Oxenhope below 900ft and it was green fields.

You can see the snow line in the distance

Didn't see a single fat bike tyre tread anywhere.
