I live in sheffield and have been to Buxton and back this morning in the car. Nice sunny day and about an inch of snow everywhere on the trip, very little change even on the highest bits.

It's ****ing cold!!! -6 when I parked up on Rushup Edge yesterday and wouldn't expect it to be much warmer today if at all.

Was there (Castleton/MamTor/Hope X/Hope)on Sat with bike. Only a dusting then but in actual fact this was just the right amount. White over, hard packed and firm beneath. Traction was great and all rideable including the ascent of Jagger's Clough! Maybe be different now though?

I rode the Pennine Bway from Saddleworth down to Peak Forest yesterday and saw a small patch of snow about 10mm deep.

Apart from that, loads of scary ice.

A lots changed since yesterday
Lot of snow over night in Sheffield / Dark Peak. Ranging up to 2" over the Peak. Actually less on Mamtor than there is at Sheffield. Manchester road covered for a while but had tram tracks down it this morning. More forecast tonight.

Loads of snow, and has started drifting, so open land should be okay, but anything on the windward side of a wall will be tough going.
