Waterproof spray for panniers?

I’ve got some specific fit panniers for my Benno longtail.  I knew they weren’t waterproof, but I was hoping that they were water resistant. However they quickly get soaked and as they are not designed to be taken off regularly, I can’t take them in the house and it can take several days for them to dry out.

I’m considering spraying them with Fabsil or another waterproofing spray. Most, but not all, suggest they are more of a re-proofer rather than waterproofing from scratch.

Has anyone had good results, I only do short runs and the bike is normally under cover so it only needs to shed 10-15 minutes of rain normally.

Would Grangers or Nikwax spray work, I wonder? The stuff normally used for the fabric part of boots.

I think a plastic bag will work better

Fabsil works on boat canopies, so I figure it would work on panniers? Be aware it has a strong smell till it’s dried off.

Fabsil is what I would use. Try and apply on a dry day then hang somewhere like a garage to cure. As noted above, it smells quite potent!

Fabsil, but also maybe put the contents in Drybags just for good measure?

Thanks all, think I'm going to give it a go after getting a soaking both to and from work today!
