What about Galibier iirc they were favourites.

I think it fulfills the brief:
-there is a discount
-they are 'water proof' (as in you could wash the dishes with them on)

but when exercising you still get damp / wet and eventually get cold.

I much prefer windproof ones - and carry a spare pair if out for more than a few hours:

The afore mentioned Galibier Barrier gloves are back in stock...

I’ve just had a pair of the Galibier delivered. They appear really, really well made. Not been out in them yet.

Not got a pair myself, but Carnac Ultimates or Windblocks are in current PX promo for under ~£10.
