I'm driving from verona to le havre next week and want to stop off and do some proper Alpine riding. I drove past Morzine on the way out last week but couldn't stop off and now I think the uplift is closed. I'm not too bothered on what route to take but what would you do? I've been riding for 6-7 months but have done all the coed y brenin blacks and snowdon so have some confidence, not comfortable with doubles big drops and gap jumps though yet.
Would also have to rent a bike and gear.
I'm also thinking of doing the local mountain, monte baldo which has an all year round uplift, anyone done it?

I think Chatel and Morgins stay open a little later than Morzine. A lot of French resorts open their lifts at the weekend.
