Decided to make a last minute rush over there to ride this this evening.
Anyone got a map of the route so i can have a quick look to get the route in my head. Park in glencoe and ride east and then up and over to Kinlochleven an dback along the road to glencoe the best way of doing it?
amny thanks, leaving in an hour.
PArk at Alt na feadh (sp) then up and over.
Go up past Mamore lodge from KLL, keep right then take the singletrack path off to the right near the top back to KLL.
Then road ride back.
Or when you meet the 'fireroad' after the techy stuff on the descent from Devil's Staircase turn right to Blackwater Dam (instead of straight down to KLL). Cross the dam then take the 1st trail on left down to KLL. Very loose, large boulders and a lot of techy stuff.
Hmm yummy.
The trail from the far side of the dam:
Mad I'm off there at 2 ish today to ride DS too. Any route advice welcome. I have benefit of wife in car though so can do just one way.
I was gonna sugget Ciaran but for a solo first timer it amy not be a lot of fun.
Ride back up the glen is 1hr or so and beautiful, shame to drive it IMO.
You can ride up the Glen almost entirely off road from the Clachaig road. First there's a path on your right, then you can join the old road over the 'study' which is quite a nice route and takes you almost all the way to Allt na Feadh.
If you get the time I'd recommend a wee recce up the climber's path to the Buachaille, its a well armoured path leading all the way up to the bottom of the cliffs, much fun!
If you do DS then along to dam and back ciaran path to kinlochleven how long would you say a medium fit person that would take?
Did the DS this afternoon. Mrs wasn't really happy with me being away all day so just did the up and down into Kinlochleven. Not too many walkers and an hour from one side to next. Push up was fine with Midges only showing up when I stopped. Quite big loose boulders but really fun and technical. Grand way to fill an hour in.
