I’m still running an old set of mavic crossmax SL’s with a deeply unfashionable 19mm, but still work well with 2.35 tyres.
Will rimpacts work with such a narrow rim? Cushcore XC maybe?

Dont see why not but its just more getting them in the tyre and the tyre on the bead....I managed it ok with my original Crest rims on my 29er HT and I think they're 21mm internal

You can get inserts for gravel so don't see why not.
