We will be in touch
My brother and I want to arrange a weekend of fun for our nephews. Normally a simple task but one nephew, 'A' (16yo) is physically disabled (CP). He has quite a bit of mobility but limited balance. He can't ride a bike but can ride a trike/ quadcycle. Dunno about a go-kart, I need to find out.
I'm in South Wales, the other uncle is in Aberdeen. 'A' is in Kent and cannot travel independantly. He is limited to the weekend of 10- 11 Feb 2024. Myself and other uncles and cousins can travel freely and easily so it seems best for us to go to 'A' in Kent.
So... What to do once there. We need cafes, adaptive bike hire, VERY easy walks, pubs and other 'adventurous' stuff and I'm very open to suggestions about what these might be. 'A' has relatively poor core strength. Off-Roading might work-he can strap in. Go-Karting? Dunno.
No set ideas about accommodation yet. I'm keen for a good country pub. 'A' can climb stairs with a bit of assistance.
I stayed at the Inn on the Green near Ockley and Beare Green a couple of years ago and liked it as a suitable accommodation base. Great spot for access to Leith Hill too, IF we can get hold of a suitable off-road adapted bike.
Can anyone help me plan our weekend? I'd be gratefull for all and any useful advice. Ta, Ambrose

Cyclopark at Gravesend has adaptive bikes.
For adaptive bikes, Cycling UK should be able to advise. My wife used to be involved when she worked for them.
I have no ideas for February but should you do something similar between April and October this place in Worthing may be of interest
Bedgebury in Feb is likely to be very muddy and hard going
Cuckoo trail perhaps - well surfaced (Heathfield, Hailsham to Polegate. Old railway line so flattish)
You could ride along the front in Brighton and Hove, flat, cycle ways, and can go from rottingdean on the undercliff, and all the way through to hove lagoon. Cafes and bars along the way and loads of places to stay
Downslink which is old railway, but muddier surface so a bit harder going. Lots of starting points.
If in Brighton you could also do laps of the preston velodrome on day 2 for a bit of a chill out.
All of these tho are straight line so there and back rather than loops
Also worth a look, but can't see dates on my phone ..
Goodwood Race Circuit cycle Sundays, cycle round the track
Sailing?
There are a few charities around the coubtry with adapted / accessible boats. Worth looking up for sure. Would be a grand adventure for you all..!
