Been to nearly all of them. great event every time, but they are long days, lots of hanging around, walking about, looking at bikes, and lots of midges. So i reckon not ideal for kids. There is always something to watch but depends how long your kids boredom threshold is.
Was thinking of taking my 6 year old this year, but not sure if it could spoil a good weekend!

Yes, although not a child I am only five foot, and find the crowds very difficult at the end, usually stay up the hill a bit or leave early. It gets very crushed at the finish.

I took my 12 year old niece and she thought it was ace, only went for the day though. Took the gondola up and walked down, give them a camera to play with and they'll have a great time.

There was a mini skills area in the pit area for kids to try out when I was there.

Went up for the weekend last year with Wife and two kids (girls). They loved it. Easy cycle up from the town each day on the cycle path loads of stuff going on all day. Race back down on cycle path. BBQ at the caravan site. Weather could make or break it though.

Plenty of kids about. Take them up on the gondola and walk back down. IME the midges are only really bad in the trees by the wall ride, but a bit of SSS sorts them for me.
I'll be taking my 8 year old this year.

is it just me or have the ticket prices gone up considerably from last year?
