I remember seeing the new investment in Tweed Valley which sounds fantastic but does anyone know what's actually happening?

There are two major things going on in the background;
1. Building of Lodges at Glentress/some new trails at Glentress.
2. DMBINS Innovation Centre and Bikepark.

Sound like the GT stuff is still going through the design/planning stages. Doubt it'll happen soon.

Last I heard of the BMBINS stuff was funding was set aside but still lots of hoop jumping to get the hands on the cash far less do something with it. I don't think much will happen here for a while if anything at all.

The most exciting development that your likely to see in the valley soon is probably the TVTA building a new climb a the Golfie on to the moor! They got £10K from the EWS to help build it.

Yeah saw the thread when it was active. But as pointed out above.. all seems a bit stalled.

I was wondering about this the other day too.
Good lord, it really would be a dream come true to have a proper bike park in the tweed valley.
An absolute tonne of infrastructure and support required for something like this though. If it does happen I think 5 years plus sort of time scale before any real movement happens. The fact that theres talk of funding being available sounds promising and gives me hope.

The drive from glasgow to inners for the uplift fills me with child like excitement. Cant imagine how great it would be having the area expanded.

There isn't a bike park there already?

I heard that the money isn't necessarily that easy to access.

Yes, this is actually what I'm most excited about.

They aren't building a new climb. They are making the current one more sustainable by building a proper path through the woods to the reservoir.

Yep but sorting out the mud bath there is a big win in my book

Is anyone on here in the TVTA?
I gave them a trail donation via Trailforks which it says needs them to accept somehow?
