It snapped and I've run out of powerlinks so I thought I'd push out a pin remove some damaged links and stick in some spare chain links from when it was new thata I kept, can't get it to work. The reconnected links are stiff as a board unless I don't mount the pin properly which is pointless. Is this something Sram chains do or am I missing some kind of trick? Used to do this with Shimano chains no problem. Do I have to use powerlinks??

how many powerlinks have you got in it? could it be time for a new chain?

All I can suggest is using the chain tool to push the pins back and forth until the link feels OK

Best way to fix a SRAM chain is to remove powerlink, replace with KMC or high end Shimano equivalent, re-fit powerlink... voila! fixed.
