So after a quick finger bang in the Trek store in Stocksbridge my eyes are drawn to the Slash, but the only thing thats stopping me is the PF30 bottom bracket. Im a techy climber too hows that

cheers

Have a Slash 8 great bike handles like a dream downwards and climbs very well not a heavy bike by all means so much better than the Remedy and that was good bike go for it your love it.

I tested one to see about replacing my slackened off Remedy 29 (which I absolutely love). I don't think the suspension is as good but the shape/handling is really excellent, nothing revolutionary but it works great. I didn't like it quite enough to bin the old bike but it's still one of the best I've ever ridden.

The only thing that bugged me is the kinked seattube- it's not got as much space for a really big dropper post as some other bikes. For a bike like this that's a bit of a downer.

Carbon has a slacker seat tube than the alu model. If you’re tall and have loads of seatpost showing you may find you’re too far over the rear wheel on climbs? I’ve got the alu - 5.11 on a large and it climbs fine, no complaints. Not heard a peep from the bb in 5 months. Had a few Bikes with pf and not any issues with them. It’s not a super long monster truck of a bike that is only suited to winch and plummet. Does every type of riding, sedate to full on, brilliantly imo.
The only niggle is around seatpost insertion. I had to limit the travel on my dropper to get the fit I wanted.
