Im looking for an upgrade on my bars and stem. I would say I like doing everything, a bit of up, free flowing trails and love coming down. My set up is a 120 - 150 Rock Shox u turns maxle 20mm screw throu. Any advise would be great. Thanks. 😀

I have the same frame.

I went for a short 100mm raceface deus stem with there xc low rise 660 bars.

about £80 for both. light, tough, look nice.

saying that the same geometry is available from all the manufacturers.

I settled on a 70mm stem after trying a few lengths, 70 felt not too short as to lose climbing ability but sharpened up the steering nicely.

I'd also go for 700 ish bars. Combination transforms the bike coming down in techy/steep sections imo.

I went for a Thomson 70mm stem & Raceface Atlas AM low rise bar (725mm)

had 4 days on it last month in North Wales and it was perfect.

I've got a 90mm thomson stem on mine with a 725 atlas.

Mark SS/ChrisDB with the shorter 70mm stem do you still have an inline seatpost?

Is 150mm not a bit long for a bike designed around 120mm.
Mine has 710 width 19mm rise Sunline bars and a Pro 50mm stem.

80mm stem, 5 degrees rise, Raceface SixC 725mm bars.
Much more stable and comfortable than standard.

I only use 150mm on down hill runs, its perfect! and for normal use I swap between 120 and 130. I did plenty of research from bike shops in my area. 🙂

Running a Sunline 65mm stem with 711mm Easton Haven Carbon bar

Feels about right - had a 680mm bar on before but found myself riding with my hands over the ends

75mm Syntace stem. Currently still riding with the 650mm bonty bars that came with the bike but will be upgrading to 685mm Easton EC 70 Monkeylite XC risers in the next month or so.

80mm Bonty stem and original bars (710mm I think). Handles much better than standard 100mm stem, but I did have to change to layback post to keep enough reach. The rearward shift in weight distribution is a big confidence booster on steep stuff as well.
