anyone done the TPT from barnsley/penistone to the coast.
is it good, in a nice leisurely pootle kind of a way.
is it ok on a sturdy touring bike.
and are there any really good pubs on the route.

thanks.

I've not gone to the coast but round Barnsley a lot of the trail has been surfaced and all manner of bikes use it, so a sturdy tourer would be fine.
I can't comment on conditions after Conisborough but again, I'm sure a touring bike would be fine.
Going the other way to Penistone can get a bit boggy in places but other than that it's pretty smooth.

Yes. Did Barnsley to Selby then Selby to Hornsea over two days, too long ago to report on pubs today. Pleasant ride nothing too much of a strain. Easy on a rigid mountain bike. Some Wolds inclines towards Hull but that was the only major up. Also done the leg up to York.

There was a fishing competition just finishing on the New Junction Canal as I was passing, loads of expensive carbon poles crossing the path!
