Training apps and bluetooth - still confused

Bought a MooFit speed sensor in the hope of doing some training on the dumb turbo.
Tried Wahoo RGT which looks good, but says it doesn't work only with Bluetooth and seems to suggest I'd need a laptop or tablet that's ANT+ enabled.

So I think I either need an ANT+ dongle as well as the speed sensor for Wahoo RGT on the mobile - does that sound right?

Or

are there any other training apps that will work with just the bluetooth aspect of the speed sensor.
I tried Wahoo RGT as I could sign up without a credit card, but happy to hand over details to Zwift it anyone knows it will actually work?

Finding the whole thing thoroughly confusing so any plain english advice gratefully recevied!!

I thought RGT used either. What device are you running it on?

Here are RGT’s instructions for Bluetooth connections.

Actually, just noticed this at the bottom of the pairing page:

Speed sensors over BLE are not currently supported, however they are supported over ANT

So I guess that answers that question.

That is a bit rubbish. Clicking on the ‘Speed Sensors’ link and you find only Windows or Mac with an Ant+ dongle will work, no mobiles

Did you subscribe to RGT and SYSTM in the Wahoo-X package? If so try SYSTM as it looks like that will be able to use your BT Speed Sensor

Zwift allows for a trial where you can ride a certain distance (I think it’s 15 miles) or time before you need to sub.

Certainly Zwift supports Bluetooth sensors.

I use Zwift with a dumb trainer. You just need a power output via Bluetooth or Ant plus. As long as its consistent each time you use it, it will be fine. I just use the gears to change the resistence which works fine. Zwift will use your power, weight, and the gradient of the road to determine your speed.

Thanks all.
Installed and tried Zwift and works instantly, so will give that a go and also see if Wahoo SYSTM connects.
Cheers

I was going to say Trainer Road works perfectly with a Bluetooth heart rate monitor and speed sensor (and probably cadence as well).

Going to give TrainerRoad a go as well, tried Zwift, not sure it's really worth paying that much for what I need at the moment. Cheers

TrainerRoad costs more than Zwift I think 🫣

I’ve seen a few people suggest Xert is cheaper and still decent. Don’t know what Bluetooth connectivity is like on that platform but someone will on here I imagine
