Hi

Does anyone know what the sizing is like on the Tracer VP?

I've not yet sat on one and am wondering if a Large would be OK (I'm 6'2'')?

Does anyone know of anywhere I can test ride one near Sheffield?!

thanks

A forum geezer (cruzer?) was selling one in the Sheffield area.

Might be worth a look?

If by better you mean crooked and flexy.

Forgot my smiley (on purpose?).

They are similar bikes - some prefer the Intense, others the Santa Cruz.
Can't help feeling that some are so besotted by the "boutique" small brand image that Intense have that they're happy to overlook some frankly awful QC, build quality, alignment and durability issues.

I've sold both in the past BTW, and ride neither.

No smiley required this time.

Must say the Intense is a looker but having ridden the Blur and being a long term SC fan and user i'd plump for the Blur or Nomad (alloy or carbon)

No smiley required!

Carbon nomad must say looks a far nicer product than a lot of the previous santa's
are they baking them in house or in the far east??

arse burgers

Just when I thought I was pretty keen on one and you like make me think they're made of bent floppy noodles!

Should I just stick with the tank-like foes then. . Hmmm

And yep it was one for sale in the classifieds that I was thinking about . . Just need to try one!

What you want is good old 4 bar, Chumba XCL or VF2! Tough as old boots too 🙂

Some of the Large Tracers have had about 1 degree steeper head angle compared to other sizes so you might want to verify that before purchasing (unless it does not bother you).

really? That seems pretty bizarre and a bit lazy on the part of Intense not to re-jig and correct geometry, or is there a reason for it?!

I agree. Maybe they need a "no bong hits before setting up the jig" rule.

Si Where's the pedals??
Head angle is the same for all models 67.5 or 69 in 6" travel mode?

Dino - I think that's the point though, the Tracer's are all supposed to have the same geometry just that for some reason some Large models came out with steeper head angles. .

i guess someone must have measured some - it seems a pretty odd rumour to start otherwise . . . I guess?

Lovely looking bike btw . . Just need to find one around my way that I can bounce on!

I measured almost 69 with a Fox 36 and flush headset... Some bike mag also mentioned the same recently. I also tested with a 170mm Lyric and for some reason that was at 67.5. Might be because I measured from the fork stanchion, or then the length of the forks was slightly off (lyric being even taller then it should).

I measured a built up medium and it was right where Intense claimed.

I rode mine today near sheffield if that counts,
maybe worth having a word with Extra this week to see if they can tell you where to try for a ride on a large demo?

DINO - hope you don't mind me asking but did you buy the Tracer that mtbmarkymark was advertising?

I know you were looking for one and responded to his previous adds..

....just that he's not responding to his add or emails and I was wondering if it was still available!>?

plus it was going to be a little big for me size wise having looked at the numbers

ah right cool, cheers. . . Tricky to see just how bad that damage is tbh - not sure if it would affect how well a chain device would fit, or not?!
