Does anybody use a tool roll and not a saddle bag?
I was thinking if I could find one that was secure it might work better for longer items like pumps and be more forgiving to overpacking on really long rides.
Anyone got a suggestions? Nylon/synthetic material and large enough to take a couple of mtb 29er tubes and a few tools + a pump.

Reasonably priced and well made. She will also do custom suff to your requirements if you ask nicely.
Rapha do one, I use a eh Works one:

They work well for longer rides when rear pockets are full with clothing/food.
