I've had a frustrating few hours trying to get my IR dongle to work with my new laptop. I have installed Polar Performance 5 on the laptop but can't get the HRM to,speak to the laptop (I have several s710/ 720 vintage HRMs that I use daily) Windows update won't find it, the Polar site provides drivers for the silver dongle only for pre-W7 OS. Any tips?

It's there an option to run in compatibility mode? Think you right click on the programme you want to run and there is an option for this.

Had to buy another dongle for W7. Looks same physically , but black.

If you need a new one it doesn't have to be a polar one. Any will fit.
If anyone wants some polar HRM from this period as spares or repair let me know
