Have Spez. SX trial (2008).
Has a Fox DHX 4.0 coil shock.
Current spring says - 350 / 2.80

Bought a 2nd hand Ti spring - says on side 350 / 2.75

Am I right in understanding - 350 denoates weight

2.80 or 2.75 is length?

Assume therefore, difference of 2.80 to 2.75 will make no real difference?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this, ahead of fitting.
Also any tips on fitting appreciated, assume remove shock from frame, then twist can to release ends and change spring?

you're right that the first figure is the spring rate, normally in lbs per inch. However, they can be out by a country mile sometimes.

The second number is slightly different depending on who made the spring. Fox springs give the compressible length, IE, that spring will compress 2.8" before becomming coil bound. Some manufacturers give the stroke length of the shock that the spring is designed for.

The other number to consider, although not printed on the spring, is the free length. This is the overall length of the spring and tells you if the spring will fit on your shock. Also worth knowing that not all springs fit over the same size shock body. The Fox DHX springs are a larger internal diameter than their old vanilla springs.

Depending on the stroke length of you shock, who the second spring is by and how much preload you run, you may not be an issue.

Cheers Onzadog, greatly appreciate the thoughts.
Person who sold it, said had fitted it to SX shock.
