Im in the habit of going out biking without really being bothered where i'm heading i'll just wander off down a bridle way if it takes my fancy, i always have a vague idea where i am so i can back ok but i'd like a gps unit that can tell me where i've been when i get back, plug it into my pc and it'll give me my route, distance etc etc. So i wouldn't be using it as a navigational aid, more a look where i've been. Any thoughts, recommendations???

Geko is the smallest/simplest unit. Runs on AAAs for 8-9 hrs. I've had mine for 4 or 5 years and it's been faultless.

Don't get the 101 as it has no PC interface

The geko looks good for the money, will it work with memory map and show the route i've done on it??

Yep. You'll need a cable.

You'll also likely need a serial/USB adapter (unless your PC has a serial port). Get one from ebay less than £5.
