Been using an ortlieb bar bag but quite like to see my front wheel so thinking about a couple of feedbags/whatevertherecalled. Seen the alpkit version but not that keen ..just wondered if anyone had other recommendations that aren't silly money ? thanks in advance

I have one of these from Decathlon. It can flop around if you try to put too much in it.
On one of my bikes I mount it on top of the top tube, on another I mount it inside the frame.
Zips are in the side, so may cause an issue if you need access on the move.

Or do you mean using a climbing chalk bag, to fill with snacks?
Can be found cheap and work ok

the brabantia looks good but needs mods to secure?
I found this at sjsc but it's qr bar mounted not sure whether that would make any difference to steering feel . also maybe somewhat small but only £10 ? thislinky

I'd have said just get the stem cell but they seem to have chnaged it, made it way to big and doubled the price.

I actually think that thing from sjs looks okay and it shouldn't flap about, infact i might mod something onto the stemcells I have to achieve something similar...

Chalk bag and a couple of zip ties / Velcro straps.

About the same volume as a stem cell but they're not as stiff so it looks like a chalk bag wobbling about on the bars. Fine for stuffing full of flapjack and jelly babies.

But more "two wheeled tramp" than "Instagram adventurer".

I adapted 2 military pouches from here:
https://www.militarymart.co.uk/webbing-pouches/?page=2
After a bit of fiddling with the straps, i got them both nice and secure on my Jones handlebars and now I have 1 for water and the other for flapjack, raisins nuts and chocolate mini helpings. And the hill tracks are mine !

Kids have got those sjs bar bottle holders and they're cracking. Hold a 500ml bottle without slipping or affecting steering on the tiniest frog bike. Also useful for collecting sticks, acorns, stones and dead things.

@dragos10, which pouches did you use? its quite hard seeing which ones will be most useful as a stemcell...

When chalk first came in a couple of mates of mine used to belong to the "clean hands gang". One had a chalk bag full of aniseed balls. At the crux moves he would have a dip for a sweety and a think.

Love that ..I certainly fall into the first group, but there's a helluva lot of the 2nd about, where form is way more important than function!

I've done the old chalk bag full of food thing. TBH they are pretty useless as they are so soft so getting food out becomes a bit of a wrestle. The alpkit stem cell is much better as it holds it's shape, even if wet.

I (inexpertly) stitched a couple of velcro loops on a £5 chalk bag I got off amazon, it's got a drawstring closure on the top and a zipped pocket on the side...

It's not waterproof but It holds quite bit so I tend to shove snacks, buffs, pac'a'mac, spare gloves, allsorts in it and use it for both Gravel and longer road rides...

I've also just ordered one of these as it's only a tenner so that might supersede my DIY "feedbag". But PX seem to have a few other handy looking bit's of luggage for bargain bin prices at present...
