I saw that happen in the race: Looked bad. I thought it was funny that the commentator was saying "look he's ok, he's up and walking and seems fine" when he was being propped up by two stewards, looked completely dazed, couldn't move his arms, and was limping - not my definition of "ok"; although given the nastyness of the crash, it could have been a lot worse.
what race?
an yes that looks like it would hurt!
World Cup in Bromont at weekend. Course looked really tough. There were a couple of big offs.
After another incident the marshalls literally rolled a prone rider off the track vefore the next racer came down.
Probably not what they teach you in the back injury module at doctor school.
Would that be a carbon wheel then?
The 4X was a wipout bonanza, never seen so many falls in one event.
Are there any such things as Carbon downhill rims?
I'd expect carbon would shatter rather than bend, no?

are his hands glued to the bars? think i'd be supermaning it by now!
I like the face the guy in the shorts and dark t-shirt is pulling ๐ฏ
It's his own fault for trying to ride a bike with no back wheel.
The clip of this crash is about 13 minutes into the coverage
poor guy doesn't move after the crash!

Rough old course at Bromont, loads going down
Still looking where he's going and covering the brakes - nice work! ๐
doesn't look as bad as the still pic suggests it might have been. Still...

I expect it was preferable to leaving him on the track to be run over...

Watch the video, looks like it hurt enough to me !!
Great photograph though
