[Closed] Frankenbikes

Bikes made up of bits of other bikes, freebie bits, spares bins in the LBS, raids on yer dads shed, etc. You gotta love em 😀

Built this Sunn up again recently, it's been through 3 or 4 incarnations over the last 4/5 years.......

* Frame, headset and wheels (2001 Sunn Crosss and Decathlon Deore wheelset) - free ex-rental bike from an outdoor pursuits centre in the Pyrenees.
* Seatpost, stem, bars, cranks - from various LBS bargain bins.
* Brakes (Magura HS33 20th anniversary with lovely red CNC'ed levers and braces) - cheap of t'bay 😉
* Tyres - £4 each in the Wiggle sale.
* Saddle (very old Flite titanium) - nicked from dad's spares bin.
* Shimano DX spds - free from a bike a mate bought on ebay.
* Forks were the only bit I bought new - eXotic aluminium jobbies,

Bit of a mish-mash but it's light and rides very well - in this current weather it's the preferred bike over my Stumpy FSR (too much grit on those bearings - urgh!)
