After 5 happy years of Crank Bros, I'm thinking of going back to toe clips, for no other reason than I seem to be doing a whole load more walking on my rides of late and it would be easier in decent shoes/boots.
Has anyone else flirted with this idea?

Yes, but only until my medication kicked in.
Dont do it, it'll cut the circulation off and you'll remember what a PITA it was having to undo the straps to get your feet out of them before you fall over in a heap at the traffic lights / stile / river crossing.

As King Taka says.

I have some of those from 3 years ago and wear them at least half the year. Not only are they good for alot of walking but are very protective from flying rocks and stuff.

I have toes lips at the mom

I find it very embarassing but functional its fine. I don't tighten down the straps

But my size 12 feet wouldn't fit in with walking boots, if your wood I think its a reasonable plan

why would you go back to toe clips?

if your stopping and starting all the time the other strap hanging down will catch on everything and it's such a pain in the arse. Half the time if you are going at a decent pace over stuff you pull the straps loose.

It's niether one or the other and is shite - you just get the worst of flats and spds.
