We're considering going to Fort William next weekend. Never been before but really fancy riding this new red run. After a bit of advice please.
Will there be any riding around there for the missus? She enjoys the red run at Llandegla, but anything tougher than that is too technical.
Other idea is to go to Glentress where I think she would love the blue run - electric blue down to the car park etc
Any advice welcome. Thanks in advance.
The witches trails start at the same same point as the gondola so plenty of riding of a less severe nature.
Did the red last week - the 'red' rating is a bit misleading - red and a half would be more accurate - but its great fun.
this might help

Heaps of gentler trails for her to do, and nice cake and coffee to be had at the cafe in the log cabin above the auction market - assuming still going!
A lot of pleasant forest trails in Leanachan forest at the gondola base. Witches trail is mostly fine too but I havn't done if for a while so it might have changed. Is the little skills course at the base station still there? My GF loved it!
If the weather is OK, there are some nice enough walking trails from the top Gondola station. Even the summit of Aonach Mor is not that far and worthwhile if clear. Lots of shopping in FW. Park at the top of glen nevis and there is a nice little walk up the gorge to An Steal waterfall.
Hope you have a great trip - am envious! ๐
Thanks guys.
Are there any easy ways down from the top of the gondola or is it just the red or world cup dh?
Ive just gotback from Ft Bill, from the top of the gondola its just the red/black dh, the red is more black than red immense fun but a couple of brown trouser bits!! also feels like they ran out of money towards the end of the trail as its just freshly cut trail no trail bedding of stones or different top cover and it just ends?? could of been so much better!
I took my other half, and would highly recommend Laggan Wolftrax the fun park has an uplift service and is great fun for a blast, the food in the cafe is ok and the red trails offer some technical fun.
The trails around Leanachan forest especially spean bridge area are loads of fun, some great descents and a good mix of fire road and singletrack trails.
Thanks LMT.
