IT AUTOMATICALLY JUMPS TO THE NEWEST UNREAD POST!!!! WOO
Doesn't work for me. Windows 10/Firefox. Just takes me to first page and have to use the newest post link to get there which is a pain when everything is so slow to load.
Not working for me either - Win 11 / Brave. Not a deal breaker but still a bit of a PITA.

Is the floating side blob necessary? It is very distracting and intrusive.

I just had to hit "next" page 8 times to get me here.
Come on guys we were told it would be slow as it migrates everything across, we know there will be teething problems.

Atleast be constructive like some people have been and give a clue what you are using. Ie the page number box top right works for me of i clic it i get a list of radio buttons. On android chrome.
My first thought is that its a cluttered and unintuitive mess.
Does the like button actually do anything?
Also - I tried to add another comment on my phone a while ago but it just vanished after a bit of spinny-blue-circle-of-death.
A new one. The icons on the bottom of the page that used to be tiny and barely noticeable, are now massive and totally fill the screen. These are just a few of them, I have to scroll a fair bit to see them all. Google Pixel 7a on Chrome.
I suspect as it is still running slowly, you need patience for the last page to load.
Select the page number from the list of page and it does load that page, no need to hit Next multiple times.
Hi guys, I can't seem to post new topics, it redirects to a 'website not found' sort of page asking me to resubmit information. I'll try and get a screenshot next time..
So I've got:
- disappearing posts. It says I'm last poster on a thread, but my post isn't visible.
- repeated posts on multiple threads from anyone and everyone.
- threads with different layout of posts, through the thread and between threads.
- takes over 2mins to post and even then I get the stalled screen of frustration.
- can't quote a post.
- HUGE icons at the bottom of pages.
Something's up with the forum Overview page. A post I popped up on the Bike Forum, about 10 minutes ago, has been there for a while but it's still not showing on the Overview.
- in browser make sure you're on Light Mode.
- in Settings for phone make sure you're on Light Mode
But why on earth would I want to do that? I want everything in Dark Mode, not just this site.
The offset between post posted and post published seems to be truly random. Sometimes it’s 10 mins, sometimes it’s an hour, sometimes it’s overnight. What’s it doing under the covers? A post should either be committed to the DB or not. Not sit in limbo for some job to complete.

Fair comment, but I can't see a post that the forum tells me I posted 6 minutes ago; that is surely more than a teething problem.
The thread hasn't moved up the list to reflect its updated status either

Oh no it's somehow got even worse today. Page formatting has changed for me on this thread half way down the page.
I feel it would be worth stopping the migration at this point and seeing if the issues with duplicate posts is resolved because that seems to be the biggest problem at the moment.
And even if stopping the migration does improve it you still have a bug there somewhere - do you do any debouncing or validation that the same post isn't already in the db before committing?

Not having the heart to read all eight pages and as unnecessary duplication seems to be a theme...

- No means to go straight to the last post on a thread as previously able to
- Dead space

It's the magnifying glass icon on the right hand side of the forum lists but oddly, you have to click slightly to the right of it, rather than on it, to open the search bar.
It's very slow but seems to be working.

last attempt (with this above message) I hit a “success” pop after maybe a minute but it’s not appeared.
I think the "jump to last post" thing doesn't work because of the delay from posts being added to being available to view on the forum. E.g. it'll try to jump to the latest post but it isn't there yet so it gives up and jumps to page 1 instead

Around the same time, I switched off dark mode in my account preferences, and it's made things worserer... I'm now getting lots of white text on white background, so I want to re-enable dark mode. But the icon at top right to access my profile has totally disappeared. Any ideas?

I use android/chrome and have no issues whatsoever, lovely white and grey backgrounds with nice black contrast text.
I wonder if it's some kind of conflict with the phone colour scheme? Ive never changed from default settings so I assume I'm using light mode.

What is a “comment” if not a reply on the forum
Messages: I have a red dot which seems to indicate a new message but it’s referring to one I received years ago, replied to and even hid so I didn’t keep having to forget just in case there really was a new message.
Forums: “topics started”:
I’m sure I’ve started topics since one 2 years ago about ticks
Friends: I did have friends but not now.

Without the ability to revisit new topics I posted or questions I’ve asked and my comments , the forum is a pretty ineffective platform for communication.
first time I tried to post this it took over 2 minutes - then eventually the browser popped up “Singletrack unexpectedly closed the connection”
I clicked “save draft” & got a tick "saved" - but when posting faiuled, I didn’t see how to rescue that / reload my text.

Wrote a LONG post (above) - first attempt to post “singletrack closed the connection” after a few mins. 2nd time got “success” after maybe 2 mins but it’s not here.
also I got a “cannot subscribe” popup
EDIT - I posted this from a mac [the post action took maybe 2 minutes], I have never managed to post to this forum thread from my iPhone [chrome browser] despite a 25mbit upload speed and, on the phone, eventually seeing "success" and also at the top that my post was the latest - it still did not appear.
My reply posted once, but the connection failed, so I went back and posted my second comment. That seemed to post but neither showed when I refreshed the page. Just back in and my failed post appears to be in twice and my second post is also there (second post done as the first one didn't show but also the connection didn't succeed apparently).
Help, i can't see any of my new posts?

Thanks Dick, that's fixed it, back to white text on dark background. At least its legible again. Little icon on the top right and the 'hamburger' on the top left have both reappeared too. I think I'll now leave well alone for the timebeing.

Just an observation, which may resolve when the migration's complete, but some posts are taking hours to actually show up in their threads (although they usually register in the forum stats. immediately) meaning that the 15 minute Edit window will have expired long before the post actually makes an appearance.
Just logged on today and see the "new" button has appeared on the thread list to take you to the newest unread post, except it takes me to the start of the thread 🙁
