Can't log in on desktop. It just goes around in a circle.

Looks like I might get some work done this week.

If I’m real quick I can beat the blocker.
But this is just getting really annoying now

I've just had the same as bruneep. Paid up member and I get nagged about an ad blocker. By default my browser blocks ads.

I've go be honest I feel like the site is slowly dying, the forum is way less active than it used to be. Issues uploading images, the edit window is tiny and has a weird black and RGB document icon in the bottom left.

It's a shame but I don't think I'll be renewing my subscription when the time comes 😞

Happening on everything, android firefox, PC firefox, chrome

I’m logged in as a subscriber, and this is the worst implementation of a thing in a long time. Cheesing off your paid subscribers. Freeloaders fair enough……but people who pay money for it not to happen …….

Standby guys. I'm working on this now.

We've decided to retire the hard block as it was just awkward, confusing and just ultimately wasn't compatible with subscribers. If anyone subscribed to the AdFree £15 subscription then drop me an email directly mark@singletrackworld.com and I'll switch you to an annual digital sub.

That new popup will shortly be dismissable. If you ARE running an ad blocker then it would be great if you would whitelist us. Ad Blockers ARE a growing problem for publishers everywhere so we have to do something. But the hard block method we implemented was not the solution for you or for us.

Also for some reason scrolling is now very hit and miss and extremely irritating as I’m swiping up and down and it just moves a bit then resets to where it was.

Scrolling is currently very 'sticky".
i.e. within the border of the forum topic.
I have to place my finger on the screen, wait half a second, then move it. Weird.
Opera on Android.

Same as Oceanskipper and Roger Mellie on my old iPad, though no problems on my Samsung Galaxy A54

Yeah - there's something up with scrolling.

Works OK for the topic list, but there's some sort of delay when scrolling within a post.

(Chrome/Android and Chrome/Win11 both affected)

I can’t scroll around the thread, so apologies if it’s already been said but… I can’t scroll around threads.

iPhone Safari.

It seems to be losing focus.  If it doesn't scroll and I click the browser window it starts working again.

I think.

Actually, I don't think that's quite right.  If I use the scroll wheel when it's 'stuck,' the scroll bar in the browser moves as expected despite the page being static.

I think it's related to the boxy outline things. It seems like it's often trying to scroll the content *within* the outlined frame doodah. If I touch the mm or so of background outside the frame then it works fine. And if I do it 'wrong' near the top of the page then I see the content do a little bounce within the frame.

Came to report the scrolling issue too. Doesn't do the same on other websites, sort of happy it's not my phone!

Thanks for the scrolling at the edge tip, that definitely works.

We've made a change to the css. Would appreciate some feedback if it's worked or otherwise for you. I'd suggest you close and reopen your browser first. Preferably do a hard refresh if you know how.

Every time I've come to the forum today, I've had the 'Security Verification' page load up before I can get in the site - any reason for this?

At a guess to reduce the bots.

Annoyingly, the only time I see the Security Verfication page is just after I click 'Add Reply' after typing a response to a thread. Then it refreshes to the original page without posting my reply.

It's a really frustrating waste of time especially when pictures are involved.

It’s not intentional. Our hosting company looks to have protection settings abnormally high.

Have free members lost access to search settings? The only option I seem to have is the search box (which seems to default to the annoying order by 'relevancy' option rather than date).

Yes. Subscribers can access the classic search and the new AI powered search tools and chat agent, Stan.

The reason for the switch to Google search for non subscribers isn’t purely a subs thing. It’s also a bot protection move. Our search was being hijacked by AI bot scrapers and as that was search powered by our server directly it was causing severe performance issues. The Google search is powered by. Well Google. That means using it has no effect on our server directly.

The AI bot searches we’re essentially random in what they were searching for. Often just strings of random words.

Since AI bots aren’t willing to pay for an account the best protection against them is to put the services that they like to abuse behind our paywall.

The Google search is very powerful though and you can change the results to date order.

and you can add

site:singletrackworld.com

to searches on Google itself.

Photos coming up with errors, post some words and they just disappear. How can a forum actually be this bad FFS?
