OK so I managed to get signed back in.
The sign in page isn't displaying but it seems to still be there even though I can't see it.
I looked at the sign in page on my phone to gauge where the boxes were on my PC.
I then used auto fill to fill in the boxes then just probed around trying to find the enter box and kept clicking until I hit the right spot.
That eventually signed me back in.
Still can't post any pictures though from phone or PC.
Just when I thought this place couldn't get any more difficult to use they come up with a new ****up.
This place is a complete joke.
Ads now take up 70% of the screen.
I can't even see what I'm typing just now And you really expect folk towant to invest money in this
Ads are mostly turned off at the moment.
@Mark - image posting is now broken. Photos are uploading using the usual dialogue but aren't displaying in the actual post.
Just noticed that user full names (not just user/display names) are displayed at the bottom of each classified in ca. 50% of ads

Just to reiterate, posting images isn't working for me (Android, Google pixel 8).
I can select the image from my gallery using the 'my media' button, it uploads, but when you try to 'insert into post', it doesn't do anything.

Isn't working for me either (all Apple eco-system) - the old Postimage.org way is though.

I thought I'd come for a look as I'm in the market for a new bike, I was once a regular contributor here, and was a mag subscriber on and off for several years. Frankly, I'm not that arsed on the mag these days, all the ads and content seem to be about mega money bikes and kit and trips to the other side of the world with 'inclusive groups'.
Anyway, the forum... I really subscribed to give something back and say thanks for use of the forum as it was an invaluable resource, and I frequented it regularly BITD. It's just a disaster, no I'm not currently a subscriber so yes I get the ads, but they're so off putting and intrusive, worst I've seen on any site besides regional newspapers.
The whole website is so hard to navigate, especially on a mobile device, none of it really works, headings all look the same, the colours are bad, I've no idea how to find anything. All in all it's incredibly frustrating and I can't be arsed.
Surely (Shirley) it would be much better to separate the forum and website? Have a look at this for an example of a simple forum that works, and still gets LOADS of traffic, also a niche 'sport'. Apparently no very expensive to host/run. https://airgunforums.co.uk/
I think the messaging system has problems. It will only allow me 49 characters and the black spinning background has given me a migraine!!

We've had this argument many times and there is no desire from forum members to have a forum that is split into so many sections. That format is also already covered by the likes of PinkBike.
Personally I don't visit any forums that need 50+ categories.
Even Bike and Chat is too many - I always view in overview mode! 🤣

Thursday I cleared cache and logged in, got white daytime mode back. Back in dark mode again today.
I was about to start a new thread “Stuck in dark mode? Anyone else?” But I see it’s been covered here.
So, is it just a new feature?
The option of Dark Mode has been there since the new forum software was implemented. It being enforced (for at least some folk) seems to have happened this week, probably the same time as image posting was broken. Singletracktech didn't make any changes to the forum code to affect the latter so I'm guessing they wouldn't have changed the former either.
I hope the first thing the crowdfunding campaign can buy is a new padlock for STW towers so that the person sneaking in at night and making undocumented code changes can be detered.

Where is this set? I looked in what I thought were obvious places, but no joy, and the site is so slow that it's really painful clicking through all the possibilities !!
I've just let my sun lapse and the forum is totally unusable without one. Im typing this blind as there is a persistent alltrails add that covers most of my screen and the text box. Im literally typing blind here. At least I have an idea of what the forum can be. Any prospective subscriber will take one look at this and be gone. Im prepared to accept adverts but as mentioned above, this is worse than a regional newspaper site. Now about to hit send and hopefully alltrails will move so I can have a chuckle at any typos that I couldn't see.

If my main business profile was performing badly, I'd pick a better time to ask my customers/clients to invest in my future performance.
Or I'd at least interact with said customers to outline how it might improve in the future.

Photo uploading. Are admin aware there’s an issue with this? I’ve not seen any update on this, just lots of folk flagging out as an issue.

Agreed, I couldn't tell you what's changed, but I noticed it being better.

Back to dark mode this am, despite fixing it the other day by deleting cookies. This is getting rather tedious…
Also, while I'm here, why is the like button so glacially slow?
