We had weeks of it being too complicated to resolve as it was 'obviously an issue at the client end'

Either reading comprehension isn't your strong point or you're deliberately twisting what was said in order to be a drama llama.

If you say so 😘

What changes have been made for it to start working?

At my end? None. Which is useful information for next time it happens.

Cheers. The question was to Boblo who was saying their had been changes at the server end, however other replies appeared while I was reading the posts.

Good to hear it’s working for you though.

Same, I changed nothing.  It seems quite a few of us starting getting the log out issue at the same time, which then resolved itself for all of us simultaneously a couple of weeks later.  All without us making changes at our end.  It does suggest a change at the server end which was then reversed. I'm just glad it's fixed, thanks to the hamsters but it is mildly irritating for it to be repeatedly implied by some on here that it was a user issue all along. Mildly irritating in the same way as my Mrs using the last ice cubes from the freezer and not refilling the tray.  I'll get over it! 😊

Did it fix itself 14 days after it went wrong? Could it be that some cookies somewhere expired and stopped messing things up?

BTW I don't think anyone was suggesting that it was users' fault per set - just that given that it affected some and not others, the issue might be connected to different ways different users do things.

So how is age verification going to be implemented at STW towers?

Scans of bus passes? Photos of your first mountain bike? Send in a 26" tyre?

I'm not sure what's going on today but every time I refresh or open a post I'm seeing Light Mode before it changes to Dark Mode after a noticeable (but still sub-second) interval. It was fine earlier today.

(Chrome on Android, Dark Mode in settings)

44th post in a thread seems to disappear - you can see it's been posted and is listed as the last post but it's not there....until the 45th post on the topic is posted.

Don't know if the 44th is the first on the next page and it's the same on the 88th and 132nd etc.

The Google Widevine authorisation request that pops up all the is putting me in a mood that isn't compatible with making positive posts on STW thread. It's the only site I use that I have to repeatedly click "bloquer" on Google widevine. Please make it go away because I'm not going to accept. 🙂

Replies not appearing are back for me. Thread info says I replied 8 mins ago, but it is not visible. Logging out/in does not make it appear.

EDIT; This reply appeared instantly though!

I had to google that to work out what it is. It would appear it's nothing to do with us.

Photo uploader not working for me yesterday or today. Just sits there spinning - tried with a random much smaller file than the one I was trying to upload too.

Tried on WiFi, 5g, phone and laptop

I imagine it’s video ads triggering this.

Thanks for looking into the Widevine issue, Mark. From your explanation I worked out it was triggered by a user embedded link in the Salt Way thread which was the thread I was following that day between gardening sprees. 🙂 Here:

https://singletrackworld.com/forum/off-topic/the-salt-path-with-a-whiff-of-fish/paged/3/#post-13604935

Now I know what it is I've happily clicked to accept and the pop up has gone away. I realise it came from my publicity unfriendly operating system not you.

So again thank you for your help and apologies for bothering you with something that is not STW's fault.

Are the tech team cocking a deaf un to this issue?

People mentioning it in multiple threads and this one for a few days now and no response

But then it is the weekend and I get they may be riding bikes...

If the weather could make it's mind up, I might do the same

Just my 2p worth.   Like others I am finding the forum ridiculous slow compared to other forums (free which much more traffic) I frequent.  It doesn't matter if I am on iPad or a M4 Mac with gigabit internet.  It is just slooooooow to a level where I rarely bother now and it certainly makes me question whether I should be a paying subscriber.

Can we please priorities this.

No, they’ll be on their day off.

Easier to report a post with issues or email tech rather than hope they randomly stumble across a post.

I know that would normally be the case but I thought that this thread might have been monitored regularly.

Some threads are just becoming a jumbled mess on my iPhone. The weeksy one for example no longer shows the last replies as they’re hidden under a load of singletrack article adverts and proper paid for external ads. The last response o can see starts “blimey” but half of that is cut off. I’d post a screenshot but…

As you’re a free member you can’t upload to here anyway. You could use another image hosting site though, I can then report the issue. Ta.

Image upload is still borked, it would seem 🙁

Worse, it's uploading the images, so using server resources and bandwidth, but then not letting you select them

Sorry about the image issue. It's on the liost and we'll get to it very soon. In the meantime, we are switching on a new paywall for members content tomorrow lunchtime. In preparation we've tuned off the old one, which means all our magazine articles are free to read for the next er.. 18 hours.

The auto moderation functions in the forum software are being a bit tetchy at the moment. We are just focussing on the new paywall launch right now but bring our tech attention to this and the image upload problem next.

The image upload issues seem to be a bit context specific- I uploaded a pic in the Triggers broom thread no problem - theres been something I've wanted to upload to Arrrgh my eye thread and haven't been able to for a few days. Is there something going on with thread size or number of images on a thread maybe?

EDIT

Scratch that - there must have just been a momentary un-glitch as can't now post an image to the Triggers Broom thread now either
