I thought he would have made a superb addition for Team Sky; a super domestique for Froomey

Is that something to aspire to? I see no reason why he can't beat Froome. Though I do wonder if Sunweb have jumped in with the first offer before he won, and got inundated with offers for more money elsewhere...

Would he have won if Sky were challenging for GC in the last week ? As for Tom vs Froome, Froome is not so vulnerable in TT as Niro and Nibbles (and has the stronger team)

Brilliant that Tom won it! Super consistent and far classier than the other two.

Goddammit, Eurosport have punted the highlights to 10pm, is there anywhere to watch them online?

(apologies, I'm sure this came up earlier but I'm not going through 25 pages!)

Was surprised to hear he has signed up till 2021 with Team Sunweb - I thought he would have made a superb

Inrng, who usually knows his sh1t, says there's an extended contract on the table but TD hasn't signed it yet. He be mad to before a GT, but it'd be cool if he did as it would be nice to see an upstart team grow alongside a GC contender like Orica with Chavez and the Yates brothers seem to be.

Great day for Dutch cycling - stage and overall at Giro, Vos also won today and CX star Matthew VDP came second to Shurter in MTB XC world cup.

13fm - look on steephill.tv. They usually have something you can watch.

Thanks Stevious, I found Cycling Weekly's 5 minute round up, probably enough since I knew the result anyway!

Great result for Tom. I would like to see Landa given a good CG opportunity before long.

Woop! Woop!

Massive thanks to Klunk for the summaries/previews. Top work, really top work.

So pleased for Tom D, seems to be a decent racer, a believable racer. Good for him!

Beat Van Emden and Jungles at the worlds last year. Though as last day of a 3 week GT he'd probably not have gone as well.

Nice write up on cyclingnews...

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/dumoulin-i-never-expected-to-win-the-giro-ditalia/

Dumoulin, however, had other priorities on Sunday evening, as shadows began to lengthen over Piazza Duomo. "Next up is beer, barbecue. That's my future," Dumoulin said. "Beyond that, I'm not thinking."

Be some party!

Be some party!

A bunch of cyclists at the end of a 3 week tour. It'll last til about 10pm, they'll all have about 2 pints then everyone will be completely flaked out!

Good win though, I'm pleased he got it. A bit different to the usual procession of the same half dozen names. I wonder how G would have got on were it not for that big crash...?
