Well that was probably one of the wettest XC races ever. Most of the course was either deep mud or just simply underwater. That (and the lack of tea and coffee - sorry!) didn't seem to put too many people off though, there were about 150 of you on the start line.

Thanks to everyone for their unwavering support. To see this one actually happen was almost surreal after not one but TWO date changes.

A special note of thanks has to go to the small army of marshals who turned out in pouring rain to keep you all safe.

Also huge thanks to all those who've helped me set this up and take it down again - Budge and Carl (the secateurs twins), Debbie, Michael and the life-saving McBreakfast, Phil, Mike, Daz, Adam at BC, Warren, Karen, Simon, Sally, Jackie, Rusty Pete, The Most Cheerful Portaloo Delivery Man In Manchester and anyone who I might have missed.

Well done to everyone who came out this morning. You're all bloody heroes. Cheers. Jase.

Again?

Splendid. Many thanks.
If you don't get so many replies, don't be offended. There's at least two other threads open on this.

I missed it because of work and date changes but really fancied it, until I saw the weather today and thought there was no way you’d get it on.
Bet that was tough going!

Thank you, it was awesome. I’m amazed my bike held out: seatpost wouldn’t stay up, only one brake from lap 2, “chainsuck” the whole time, and I fell off 5 times 😄

Great event, thanks again for organising it Jase.
Who was the photographer and where can we view his images?

Cracking event, nice and relaxed atmosphere but too racing, at least I only fell off once on those sloppy slabs of doom.

That big descent was ace for running down too 🤣🤣

Yeah, it's a hell of a trek for you. 😀
I'll do it every month if you organise it Jason.

Thks Terrahawk, and all the team / marshals who made it happen today - absolutely blitzed after that tbh, great riding and a superb turnout for the conditions.
