Reading on this forum about the makeshift helmet light by using the Tesco torch method. I popped into my local aforementioned supermarket. they had a few torches there, and a few out of stock too, so I couldnt see those. SO which one is it that everyone is using, there was a dinky one with a single Led, it was listed at 1 watt using 2 x aa batteries. Is this the one ? There was an out of stock item whose label was still there which said 3watt 2 x aa (but as it was not in stock I couldnt check it out, so which one is everyone using ?

erm.....I think you'll be recommended dealextreme ones instead.

Last winter I used 2 of the 2xAA led Tesco torches and they were OK, but the beam is very focused. One of them sometimes needs a bash to turn on now as well.

See my post on this thread:

quite a way down I have put some pics on comparing one tesco torch to the LED Lenser Police Tech Focus torch that I've just bought.

Yeah, Tesco torches are a bit too narrow of beam, imo. Someone I know used them for commuting though, so on road I guess they were Ok.
