Are the cheap (£90 ish) go Pro's good enough for filming biking?

Do they come with an adapter for attaching to the bike or a chest strap?

How long do the batteries last?

What's best for less than £100?

Ta, regards and an awkward man hug

Unless you are wanting to shoot 4K video then the cheap GoPro is fine. Perhaps its main weakness is that the battery isn't removable/replacable. I find that the quoted figures for Gopro aren't far off (talking about 5 minutes or so) so I'd check their website.

The main alternative would be the SJ4000, there's an SJ5000 but it doesn't seem to be as well received as the older model. This may be due to the initial firmware and there may have been an update.

Gopros don't come with adapters/mounts but have a look around and you can find full mount kits (selfie pole; chest mount; etc) for £20 - £25 (Edit: I think this is the one I've got http://www.amazon.co.uk/Deyard-ZG-634-GoPro-Accessories-Session/dp/B00KU70F5S/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1436950602&sr=8-2&keywords=gopro+accessories)

Can't comment on Go Pros but I have one of the Go Pro clones - SJ4000. It's great for the money. I didn't want to spend a load of cash on something that was a bit of fun so the SJ4000 fitted the bill perfectly.
I'm contemplating buying another one actually to film multiple angles. I've been looking as the SJ5000+ which shoots in better resolution and a higher frame rate plus has wifi and an app etc. Amazon have them around the £100 mark.

The £90ish quid Hero is fine for MTB vids, it has it's limitations in so much as really it's 720p (it will do 1080, but you lose auto-dim so it's not great unless you're filming on a sunny day without tree cover).

Also because of it's one-piece design you can't use some of the better/more expensive add-ons that replace the back cover on the more expensive ones like the viewing screen and extra battery pack.

It also doesn't have Bluetooth so you can't use the app - the app allows you to view video on your phone.

Battery wise, I've ridden a full day at BPW, filing every run and turning it off in the Van, it was still a 3rd full when I got home.

But, it is much cheaper than the fancy ones and is waterproof (within reason) is compatible with all GoPro mounts - it does come with some sort of mount, but it's not one for a bike or a chesty - the chesty is £25, but there are much cheaper unofficial ones on eBay.

For casual use, or for studying your riding they're great - the GoPro Studio software is easy to use once you get over the learning curve and it's hard to knock out a couple of vids easy enough - it's easier if you have a decent spec PC to do it though.

I don't really have the time for editing and all that, but here's one I made earlier on my Hero

^^ that's pretty impressive for the money - assuming that was in 720?

Right , cheapest place to get one before Friday (biking trip to Glentress/Inners).?!

I have a £20 Amazon voucher - any suppliers do real guaranteed next day delivery?!

Yeah that's 720p with 50fps - pretty much perfect conditions for it, clear skies and no tree cover.

You'll need a SD card too, Class 10 at least. 7DayShop have good own-brand ones for little money.

GoPros are pretty bad tbh unless you have a really stable mount or some way of stabilising it. Not bad for a strong and waterproof camera though but they suck on really rough tracks in my experience. Or maybe mines just nackered?

Quality of the mounting is what usually causes shakiness ime, but if the track is really rough then pretty much anything will suck.
