[Closed] Tech help - Broken derailleur after flight? (maybe)

Hi,

So I just unpacked my bike and re-assembled it (I didn't remove the derailleur) after a flight. It all seemed find, but the chain didn't tension. Upon closer inspection the derailleur isn't sitting under tension right, and I can't see why. I thought the dropout had broken, but it seems fine. I managed to find part that seems to have broken off. It is a SRAM X0 short cage (Type 1). You can see part that a small part has broken off, but I can't tell what that might have done to tension the chain. It is as if the device is moving to close to the front. If I screw the bolt that moves the derailleur back from the hanger to the max, it almost works, but not quite, still a lot of slack.

Any advice before I try and replace it?

Thanks,

Angus

So the offending part is by the first dolly wheel from the main body. I've checked there is no lock button as on the type two. It is like it that is the problem though. I know it isn't easy to spot from the photos. Might be a trip the the bike shop but I'm so reluctant, just because it's really annoying that I can't figure our WHY!

If yours is like this one (it's an X9) then it looks like the bit that's gone may be some sort of a stop.
I don't use sram so no idea what it is or does
