As a team Omega Pharma Lotto have got to be topping the suspicion list of most likely to be drugged up.

the greens up for grabs at the finish then. What price Cav in green come 5pm?

Failing that, if he gets good points its going to be a shootout in Paris! (unless Gilbert goes on a mental point getting ride like Thor did in 2009)

They are saying that Gilbert will hoover up loads of intermediates in the mts because he can climb much better than Cav.

In a completely unbiased way, it would be a shame if the revisions to the points competition didn't result in a proper sprinter winning it.

And yes, Cav in green on the podium ce soir

Why? The green jersey's not meant to be a sprinter's jersey.

why? because as a team they are far exceeding what they are expected be capable of. unless they blow up next week and fall out the back door.

he may be a good climber, but the points are reduced in mountain stages for both intermiadiate sprints and finishes, so unless he's in the top 10, which is very very unlikely he'll be getting a couple of points here and there. and if he does that he'll be exhausted for the final sprint in Paris, which has 35 points attached to it.

Why? The green jersey's not meant to be a sprinter's jersey.

I'd read that the green jersey is actually officially for most consistent finisher, so I don't get why there's intermediate points anyway... anyone the wiser?

Yeah, the breakaway are holding out for longer than I thought. Going to be a tight finish - particularly in the wet.

What's the deal with the number of kisses?

Most seem to do three Cav always goes for four. Voeckler only does two.

On the green jumper presentation he only bothered with two.

I think there are only a couple of days where Cav wont be right at the front on the intermediate sprint, there's one into Bourg D'Oisans coming off Galibier. I think he will be way back in the caravan by that stage.

Apart from that one they are early in the day before big mountain finishes which I dont THINK Gilbert will win. No reason Cavendish cant keep green.

Yeah I though the 4 kisses thing was was strange. He caught out the podium girl last week when he did it. The German and Swiss women I used to work with did 3. Dutch and French 2. With British if it happens it one a often awkward. Maybe on IoM its 4?

you'd think with that all or nothing attitude he'd go right in for tongues

it's cool to see Cav win but hopefully it will really get going tomorrow.

armchair predictions for tomorrow?

Voeckler to stay in yellow by just a few seconds
Contador to escape but too little too late
Evans to look grumpy

I've heard (on QI) that in different parts of France you do a different amount of kisses, anywhere from 2 to 5 I think.

My internet went down straight after I posted this thread, and only just got it back annoyingly. Managed to catch the stage on ITV4 though.

Possibly one of my favourite stages so far. Terrible weather, but no crashes, a brilliant break that almost made it, and a tricky win for Cav, putting him into the green jersey. Perfect IMO.

Yup. 3 bises here in Montpellier, but only if being informal. Algerian, Moroccan, Tunisian men use four kisses, just not to the women.

Were Sky working for their own sprinter, or for the greater good of Team GB? ๐Ÿ˜‰
