I am slightly struggling to believe they really are 299g. If they are that light I am struggling to see how reliable they will be. I know the products from that website have got a mixed reaction so I am only really interested to hear people that have used the hub especially if they happened to have weighed it.
Sorry, no personal experience here, but you might want to dig around for info. on Novatec hubs. AFAIK they are the manufacturers of SS's hubs, but also sell direct under the Novatec brandname (they're also available under many other names). On their website, [url= http://www.novatec.com.tw/novatec/english/p_racing.php?c1=3&c2=14 ]here[/url], the claimed weight is 304g.
My one was 294g & has been on the bike 3 months now & is fine.
