My brother's going to be here at the weekend and it'd be nice to go over to Swinley, anyone know where I might be able to hire a bike for him?

There's nothing here in Reading as far as I know.

Swinely hire out cheep saracens (from when saracen were bad).

Convince mountain trax that you want to demo a bike? It's probably cheeper.

Ah, I though the place at Swinley had shut down (It's always been shut when I've been there).

Thankyou!

does anybody know how much bike hire is from swinley? got a couple of friends who'd love it but dont have bikes... so a cheap saracen wont make much difference!

The bikes at swinley are fine if your just pottering round swinley.

Most now have now been upgraded to hydralic disc brakes and some have fairly beefy continental tires which are often better than skinny XC for a newbie as they are more forgiving.

Also £13 for 2 hours seems reasonable to me, which includes the £2 pass and helmet.

There also 9 speed and well maintained the weak point is the suspension which is rubbish though.

They used to be Trek's. My son has hired one in the past and he survived to tell the tale, he's 6'4"!

or demo a good bike (free) from Mountain Trax in Barkham

note: this will work out more expensive if you then buy said bike 😉
