[Closed] Sweet singletrack in Lincoln, almost like the holy grail...

Went out for a scoping ride today as there's bits of land around which needed riding, and I'm fed up of having to drive an hour to find trails.

What I found was 2 miles of beautiful, albeit level-ish, singletrack winding right off my doorstep.

The only issue, and I admit it's a big one, is the "No Cycling" signs dotted along its length. Given that I saw 1 person along its length on a sunny Sunday afternoon i'm wondering if it's really getting used enough, I'd go every day if it wasn't frowned upon/illegal.

Has anyone heard of Public Footpaths being changed from no cycling to cycling allowed or similar? Would like to know if it would be worth the effort with the council to get cycling access on this path.

I think you'll find Lincolnshire police are contracting out to a private company who shall remain nameless. One policeman is probably one more than they have.

grew up somewhere near there but significantly smaller.

as a youth we were all well aware when the policeman was off for the day. nearest one after that was a good 15 min drive...

ahhh the good old days.

Have a look at www.louthnet.com/LAMB for some local Lincs trails and riders. And post up where that trail is so we can 'advise' you ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you saw no one on an afternoon like today then it's fair game I would . Personally am more interested in where it was! Anywhere near Carlton centre or Damons? Main thing is to avoid the dog walkers and be smiley and nice to everyone.
