Tired of dropping my chain so I ordered a Superstar XCR chain device. Seems a reasonably sturdy bit of kit. Fit it to the BB and re-introduce the crank. This is where it all starts to go a bit wrong.

The chain device is catching on the bash. Seeing as there are no instructions (being male I wouldn't read them anyway) I'm at a bit of a loss. Any one else had this or is it bodging time?

I think it's designed to run without a bash guard.

Mate has one, he hasn't put his bash back on. I don't think it would fit so he left it off.

If it's got a full cage, then it's not designed for use with a bash (same as E13, etc). You can buy a bashring-specific guide for it but it's too expensive to be worth considering. I'd cut down the cage, personally, or remove the bash.

Thanks guys. I'll lose the bash to start with and see how it goes.

Cheers.
