starting to get REALLY exited now, despite the long range weather forecast. 2 weeks in Scotland following this route:

with a mix of campsite, SYHA, hotel and wild camping. My personal highlights are 8 distilleries in 2 days on Islay and 2 days wild camping on Ulva. Anything else we should look out for along the way?

Looks great.

The only thing I'd mention is that there's a more interesting route from Dalwhinnie to Loch Laggan (via Loch Pattack) which would cut out some of the A9 plod - but it might not fit in with your planned overnight stops.

Can you tweak the route a bit and add Glen Lyon (between Killin and Pitlochry)?
And how's about heading into Glen Affric rather than the A82.

Top route by the way!

Ignore that - Wrong peninsula.

Do Glen Affric anyway!

thanks

Plan A was glen lyon but we are't quite ready to commit to that much offroad on our tourers yet (when fully loaded).

Donald - that may fit our plans, we are camping just off the A9 near Etteridge. We do however need to get the train at about midday from Tulloch
