Off the back of a comment I made on the Mtb Marathon thread a while back, I'd like to make a suggestion. How about a STW Events calendar?
Maybe a free single line for fun/charity events rising to full paid ads for commercial eveventsplus a chance to cross advertise.
Unless I'm missing a trick there doesn't seem to be anywhere that does cover a reasonable range of events,

Good idea, we ran a charity event on Sunday, would be nice if we could advertise it on here next time
