ditto,

average home oven 250degC
melting point of steel 1250degC

How exactly will an oven help?

If your oven tops out at around 1000C it might work, mine stops at 220C

hmmm, going to look in to this as my bike nearly fell off the car roof on the way back from the lakes on sunday and the rotor, which took all of the impact when it all went horizontal, now resembles a pringle!

surely you dont want to be melting the thing just soften it up, so why would you need to get up anywhere near 1000degrees?!

because it won't be soft at 1000°C

Are you confusing brake pads in the oven to remove oil contamination with brake rotors?

Just use a hairdryer on its hottest setting. That'll be sufficient

Just rub it gently and channel your thoughts into it.

you don't need to turn it on, just hit the disc in the right direction...

and don't use any styling gel!

Soak in tea and pop under the grill . . .

or just buy a new rotor?

๐Ÿ™„ obv don't want to melt anything and an oven won't be enough for phase changing then quenching

I thought that there might be a little truth in it - that 300 C might enough for stress relieving purposes, but I think you'd need closer to 500 C for that.

*sigh*

let the rollocking continue

That's a good call actually. Maybe Uri Geller can set up shop as a rotor straightener now his main job of being a 'friend of Micheal Jackson' has come to a close.

Did you actually just go and borrow your wifes hair straighteners, run out the garage, hang them up, take a picture, put the picture on the computer, upload it, then post it here. Or do you just sometimes feel that your hair just isnt straight enough while out fixing the bike.

If its the first one, thats commitment. If its the second, you have a problem.

๐Ÿ˜€

Substitute daughter for wife in the first option & you're somewhere there

I'm not sure you can straighten 1/8" long hair by any substantial amount
