Bummer. We’re they locked etc and you’d been scooped out do you th8nk or more opportunist walk by theft.

I often have my bikes on the back of the camper but usually locked to at least the bike rack for fuel or coffee stops where we’re in sight of the van or 2 mins away and a longer chain fastened to the chassis if we’re out of sight for longer or sleeping in the van.

I’m pretty sure my camper van insurance covers my bikes. Worth checking.

Yeah fairly big chain lock. Looks like a big pair of bolt cutters used.

Taken from a quiet cul de sac,, so I suspect scoped and then came back with tools.

What would you do if you went to a house and a youth turned up on what you thought was a stolen bike?
Last Friday I was called to a house to do some work .
I started my work, and went out to get some parts, the man (youth) turned up at that moment on a decent Boardman Hybrid. He just threw it down in the mud, and walked in. Seeing the type of person he was (suspected drug dealer we think) , it was pretty obvious the bike wasnt his.He then got into the BMW on the driveway, and drove off.

We could have rang the Police, but from past experience, they wouldnt do anything.
When we'd gone, we said we should have pinched the bike ourselves and handed it into the Police.

Thanks all. Much appreciated. Will have a go at fixing pictures once I’m on a proper connection. Soo angry about it still. There is a full blown ranty essay in me somewhere.

We were going to ride the Chase as one set of parents are located there but a stiff walk is probably the order of the day now.
