Another one of "those" posts... does anyone know of anywhere with a SRAM GX Eagle mech & chain in stock? Nearest I can find is Australia, and I'm based in the UK!

Nothing in the UK when I was looking a fortnight ago. Bought an XX1 copper one from Bikeinn (in Spain), which took a week to arrive. £70ish posted and no customs charges (as of yet).
You might have to look at SX/NX Eagle mech to tide you over, though even these are thin on the ground. 12 speed chains of any type are in short supply, I'm told KMC X12 play well (£33 on eBay), I also bought a SUMC chain from Aliexpress to try which arrived quickly and looks good for about £26 which is annoying as I paid £20 for SRAM GX Eagle in Feb.

Thanks all, checked out bikeinn but even the XX1 seems to have gone now! I'd be happy to go for NX, does SX still shift OK?
SX will do in a pinch but don't expect it to last too long. The mech is almost entirely plastic except the cage, so the linkage parts develop play quickly. It's a lot lighter than NX though!
Stick a Shimano mech on . Cheaper and better IMO .
Can't help with availability but can confirm that the 12 speed GX shifter plays nicely with an SLX rear mech after struggling to find stock when i smashed my GX mech up a few months back.
Like Steve I put an slx on to replace a gx and it shifts fine.
Not sure on the longevity of the SLX but can’t see how it could be much worse than the gx.
Bit moot if you can't buy Shimano either.

Ordered a Powerspline BB in April - now due July....
It's a joke at the moment - can't see it improving anytime soon.
decathlon had some non boxed 10-50 mechs in a while back. not sure if they still have them. You're looking at October from most places. I ended up going to GX AXS to avoid the wait

Worth checking Aliexpress, a quick search came up with Full SX Eagle groupset for about £200 (may be other charges but I've not paid anything more on delivery like duty) stuff I've bought from Ali arrives in 10 days or so. Interestingly they include a YBN chain though as they say they can't source SRAM.
