Say, compared to Deore 4 pots?

Thanks.

Mrs Ambrose used them on a hired Levo for a fortnight in Les Gets last summer with no complaints at all. She has Deore 4 pots on her normal bike but it died the day before we left for France, hence the hire bike. I just asked her about both brakes and she says that she couldn't notice anything different.

The DB8s don't look particularly 'trick' though, perhaps that's why they are not getting the love.

Cheers. Yeah they don't look 'bling' but if they are powerful & have good reliability then I'm interested!

Had them in a hire bike. They were pretty good. Long descents lots of braking, both wet and dry conditions - no problems

£45 for a full set on banana industries at the moment which is a ridiculously good bargain

Yep, they’re pretty decent. I’m not a light chap and they stop me fine on my big ebike. Out in the alps there was no fade or braking problems including some really steep long descents and smashing out repeated park laps.

I was so happy with them I bought a second pair from Banana industries.

I have a 220 on the front and 200 on the rear. I’m about 85kg and my bike is about  25+kg

Came on my FS bike (Trail/XC) that's nearly 3 years old now. Thought I'd take them off but, after trying them, they stayed on and have been there ever since with zero maintenance

As such, I've bought another set off banana

Had a set on a hire bike in Whistler this summer. My heart sank having sworn off Sram brakes a long time ago, but they were excellent. I’ve since had a set from Banana Industries and I’m very happy with them.

Avoided SRAM brakes for years becuase of terrible experiences and reliability but took a little bit of a gamble and bought some SRAM Motives this year - it seems they have really turned a corner with the latest gen, minerals oil brakes. They are superb. I'm sure the DB8s are just as good as a budget option.

Just for contrast, my boy's Ragley came with them, I thought they were wooden and underpowered. To be fair though I didn't try any other pads and they were 180 rotors. And I have Trickstuff Maximas on 200s on my bike, so.....

Just bought some used SLX four pots from @bikerevivesheffield for his new bike.

Been running a pair on my trail bike with some aftermarket Galfer pads (purple) and 203mm rotors. Can't fault them really, great modulation and control, not as powerful as my V4s but a fraction of the price.

Excellent brakes. I prefer them to Motives in fact. Just feel a bit more bitey.
