I've got a Salsa Vaya with Apex 1, which has been fine for commuting and light touring, but I'm looking at lowering the gears for more heavily loaded and longer distance touring.
I've been thinking about getting a 2x crankset, front mech and bar end shifter. I know that I will need to consider the capacity of the rear mech and avoid certain gear combos, but are there any other reasons that this won't work?
